Obituary of Elaine Richardson

Richardson, Elaine Lambeth, 83, of Talladega, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 2:00PM at The First United Methodist Church of Talladega with a graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will be receiving friends at the church beginning at 1:00PM. Mrs. Richardson attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery for two years and then graduated from The University of Alabama in 1948 with a degree in science. She and her husband Tom were married on May 1, 1948. She was a resident of Birmingham until 1964 when the family moved to Talladega. Mrs. Richardson had a love for travel. She was a Certified Travel Consultant and co-owner of Cheaha Travel Service. She was an active member of The First United Methodist Church of Talladega and the ETA Women's Circle there. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, The Holly Garden Club, and a former member of the Highland City Club. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas B. Richardson, Jr.; her brother, Edmund B. Lambeth (Fran), of Columbia, Missouri; her daughter, Joy R. Smith (Frank), of Norwell, Massachusetts; her son, Thomas B. Richardson, III (Emily), of Anniston; grandchildren, Richardson James Smith, Martha Anderson(Allen), and Lindsay Elaine Richardson. Pallbearers for the service will be Julian King, William Boyd McGhee III, Tommy Spears, Allen Gray McMillan III, William Boyd McGehee IV, and Andy Brown. Honorary Pallberarers will be Philip H. Smith, Donald R. Fisher, and Frank W. Davies.
