Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Griffin Nabors, 80, of Talladega will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church of Talladega. Rev. Mike Irons will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 until 11:30 at the church. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will officiate. Mr. Nabors passed away at his home Saturday, September 29, 2012. "Jimmy" was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He was a Talladega High School and a Jacksonville State University graduate. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Masonic Lodge member. He worked for Kimberly Clark as a buyer for with 38 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and attended the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was an Auburn fan, master gardener and woodworker. Mr. Nabors is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Edwin Nabors, sisters, Liz Brown and Joyce Ivey. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Haynes Nabors, daughters, Paula Nabors Kinard and husband Robert William Kinard, Jr. of Nashville and Kelli Nabors Mulherin and husband William Austin Mulherin III of Mobile, grandchildren William and James Kinard and Ann Elizabeth Mulherin. Pallbearers will be Carlton Grogan, Austin Mulherin, Bob Kinard, William Kinard, and James Kinard. Honorary pallbearers will be The Friendship Sunday School Class and the Choir at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church.
