Obituary of Garry Wills

Funeral services for Coach Garry B. Wills, 67, of Lincoln will be Thursday at 3 PM at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Coach Jeff Chappell and Rev. Willie Howard will officiate and burial will be in Blue Eye Baptist Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday August 8, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Coach Wills passed away August 6, 2012 at his residence. Coach Wills was a native of Calhoun County and a long time resident of Lincoln. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with 28 years of service and was in the US Army Reserves for 12 years. He is survived by his wife: Linda Wills, children: Brian Wills (Carol), Deadra Wills, Mindy Wills Allen (Montra’), grandchildren: Hannah Morgan, Blaine Shepherd, Maegan Gaston, Micah Gaston, Abigail Wills, Olivia Allen, Jacob Allen, brothers: Ray Wills (Mary), Larry Wills (Margaret), Kenneth Wills (Betty) and several nieces and nephews. Coach Wills was involved with coaching for more than 30 years. His love for the game was ever present in his life. He helped train young men and women to be the best they could be. The moto cross family too was a big part of his life. Pallbearers will be Robert G. Allen, Skylar Mansfield, Randy Tims, Danny Hattaway Jr., Roy Lee Gaston Jr, Jamie Hattaway and Jason Upchurch. Honorary pallbearers will be Coaches Alan Brooks and Darryl Johnston, along with all others coaches that have been a part of Coach Wills career. Special thanks to Oasis Hospice of Moody Alabama, The Village at Cook’s Springs family, and for our families and friends love and support. An extended thank you to our Aunts who have tirelessly cared for us for the past few days.
