Obituary of Carrie Mae Winningham

TALLADEGA - Funeral Service for Carrie Mae Winningham, 94, of Talladega will be Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith Worship Center on Highway 77 in Talladega with Rev. W. H. Ford and Rev. ---» Bobby L. Morgan and Geraldine “Jeri” Smith officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at Faith Worship Center from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Burial will be at Hall's Chapel Cemetery in Weaver. Carrie Winningham, 94, went to heaven on Tuesday at her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years. Rev. Jimmie Winningham, Sr.; two sons: Jimmie Winningham Jr. (JB), and Shelly Winningham; 3 grandchildren: Monica Winningham, Terry Winningham, and Lynn Winningham. Mrs. Winningham was a native of Eastaboga for 48 years, and a resident of Talladega for the past 13 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and friend. Granny was a dedicated Christian and lived her life for her Lord and her family. She was a very kind, talented, and gentle soul. She had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. Granny loved to cook, read, quilt, and enjoyed needlepoint. She was an active member of Faith Worship Center, where she became the church's first member. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughters: Ruth Kemp (Bobby) and Pat Dalton (Larry), both of Talladega; her son: Roger Winningham (Sharon) of Winston, Georgia; her daughter-in-law: Juanita Winningham of Eastaboga; nine grandchildren: Selena Nelson, Chris Dalton, Tina Nolan, Vanessa Harmon, Bobbie Parks, Angela Worthey, Shane Winningham, Perry Winningham, and Sherry Winningham; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Shane Winningham, Perry Winningham, Chris Dalton, Mark Nelson, Jackie Harmon, Greg Worthey, and Kevin Winningham. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders of Faith Worship Center and Greg Tankersley. The family extends a special thanks to our wonderful friends at Comfort Care Hospice.
