He worked as an Information Systems Manager with Morton Thiocol in Huntsville, AL for 33 years before retiring on Logan Martin Lake in Talladega. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in Death by:He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Evelyn Thompson Huckaby, his brothers, James W. Huckaby, Jr. and William C. Huckaby, and by his sister, Allie Brooks Patterson. Survivors:Wife: Linda Thompson Huckaby, Sister: Alice McDonald, Son: James Huckaby, Daughters: Shannon Latona, Lauren Clemons, 5 Grandchildren Service:Usrey Funeral Home, Pel City Wednesday, July 18, 2012 2:00 P.M. Clergy:Rev. Sam Huffstutler Cemetery:Forest Hill Cemetery Visitation:The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Robert Rhodes, Jim McDonald, Willie Clemons, James Huckaby, Norman Latona, Ronnie Harkins, Charles Conn, & Jerry Chappel. Music will be by Nancy Myer and Pamela Thompson. Contributions:If preferred, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
