Mary ~ We love you so much, and are praying for you, your brother and family. I know today is a tough day, but your sweet Dad is pain free and dancing in Heaven with your wonderful Mama. I'm sorry to hear that your father is no longer with us here on earth. When I returned to Talladega County to live I looked for some volunteer involvement which might be a source of service as well as personal growth. The search led me to the county historical association and I served one year as secretary with Mr. Kelly as president/chairman. He was a smart and wise man, and very pleasant to be around. I was amazed at how patient he was, and how encouraging and supportive he was. He was a very gracious, Southern gentleman, and a wonderful representative of The University of Alabama. I feel I am a better person for having known him and I know you all are so blessed to have had him as a father.

Years ago when I worked at the Probate Office in Talladega for Judge Killough, I had many conversations with Mr. Kelly. He was the kindest and most considerate man. I was a single Mom at the time and he always took time to ask about my children and how I was doing. He was a truly gentle and thoughtful man. He gave me a lot of encouragement at a time when I really needed it.

So sorry to learn of Mr. Bill's passing but know he is in his heavenly home being greeted by his lovely lady--Mrs. Jean. I served with Mr. Bill on the Talladega County Education Foundation as well as attended church with him and grew to admire him greatly. God Bless!
