Joe White, of Eastaboga, AL, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2024, at the age of 76. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Jason Grisson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Joe is survived by his children, Dr. Joseph Brandon White and April White Morgan (R.C.), brothers, Steve White (Melba) and William White (Sherri), grandchildren, Will and Zeke Morgan, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Joe served in the United States Army and was a veteran of The Vietnam War. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal, which is the third-highest military combat decoration. Joe was also presented with the Purple Heart Medal. Joe was a native and lifelong resident of Eastaboga, AL where he worked at Anniston Army Depot, managed convenient stores, and then found his passion of owning and operating Joe White Bait Company. Joe was an avid golfer at Alpine Bay, supporter of Lincoln High Football, and was one of the biggest Auburn football fans around. He enjoyed travelling, playing cards at the “Garden Club” with his friends, and going to the casino. Joe never met a stranger and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eastaboga Baptist Cemetery Fund, 107 Church Ln, Eastaboga, AL 36260. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing the service.
