Obituary of Mark Eugene McDowell

Mark Eugene McDowell, 66, of Alpine, AL passed away on Tuesday, January 09, 2024. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Alpine Baptist Cemetery with Ronnie Forbus officiating. His family will receive friends prior to the service at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Mr. McDowell was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. He also lived many years in the state of Florida but spent most of his life in Talladega, AL. He enjoyed bowling with his dad and granddad and riding his beloved Harley motorcycle. Mr. McDowell also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and taking care of his wife, Sandra. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family was his entire world. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Gruber. Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra McDowell; children, Tanya Evans (Marvin), Melinda Price (Jason), Tracy Watts (Dale), Jarrod Pitts (Lacey), Amber McDowell (George Ramos), John Ledbetter, Jennifer Kissic (Jamie), and Rodney Hayes (Mendy); 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; parents, Billy and Sarah McDowell; sisters, Lori Dunn and Vicky Curlee; brother, Steve McDowell, and a host of nieces and nephews. Austin Boyett, Jason Price, Dale Watts, Joel Gibson, Denny Caudle, Jason Wideman, Michael Hurst, Jeff Hurst, Derek McDowell, and Chance Hurst will serve as pallbearers.
