Sarah Joyce Lackey, 72 of Wellington passed away December 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega. Burial will follow at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Clyde Pettus will officiate the services. Her family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the funeral home on Monday. Mrs. Lackey was a native of Talladega County before moving to Wellington. She was retired from Aviagen after 17 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Annie Crim, brothers William, Buddy, and James Crim and she will be laid to rest next to her first husband Jimmy Cosby. Sarah is survived by her husband Wayne Lackey, daughter Emily Weldon (Allen), son Brian Cosby, four stepchildren Joe Lackey, Pam Copeland, Larry Lackey, Brenda Vinson (Kenneth), grandchildren Josh Weldon (Amber), Micheal Cosby, Patrick Cosby (Katie), nine step grandchildren, two great grandchildren Emma and Carson, nine step great-grandchildren, siblings Lucy Parsons, Harvey Crim (Brenda), Bernice Randall (Jerry), Myra Crim, Sadie Messer, Carlton Crim (Gail), Mike Crim (Kathy), Ronald Crim (Donna) and Steve Crim (Lynn). Serving as Pallbearers will be Mike Crim, Ronald Crim, Carlton Crim, Joe Lackey, Sam Timmons and Kenneth Vinson Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct services.
