Obituary of Joyce Simpson Casey

Joyce Simpson Casey, 71, of Talladega, AL passed away in Anniston on Monday, November 27, 2023. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Earl Sanders officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service at Bethel West Baptist Cemetery in Wedowee. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Casey was a native and resident of Talladega. She was a lifelong member of First Freewill Baptist Church and also attended Harvest Life Church. Mrs. Casey retired from AIDB where she worked as a seamstress. She was a loving and devoted mother and granny. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Casey and Sabie Patterson; parents, Mamer and Dee Simpson; 3 sisters; 3 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Casey is survived by her children, Patricia Bean (James), James Patterson, and Willie Joseph “Joe Joe” Patterson; grandchildren, J.D. Bean (Alex), Robert Bean, John Bean (Hannah), David Lynn Bean (Cheyenne), Meghan Pope (Dillan), Riley Patterson (Melody), Camilla Snow (Triston), and Dakota Earl (Breanna); great-grandchildren, Delanie Sterling, Josef Sterling, Johnathon Bean, Luca Bean, Lakelynn Bean, and Lynzee Patterson; brother, Lonnie Simpson (Elaine), and a host of nieces and nephews. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Willie Joseph Patterson will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
