Obituary of Gerald Colvin Bussey

Gerald Colvin Bussey, 77, of Munford passed away on October 16, 2017 at the Village at Cook Springs. Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday October 18, 2017 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Michael Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery also in Talladega. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home from 2 pm until 3:30 pm prior to services.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and a graduate of Munford High School class of 1958 where he played football, basketball and baseball. Gerald was a farmer and owner/operator of Bussey Tractor Company. He was retired from the Talladega Superspeedway.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn W. Bussey; parents, Esther and L.J. Bussey and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Kim B. Browning, Angela B. York (Brian) and Lori B. Hornsby (Phil), sister, Gwen B. Woodard; grandchildren, Mallory Phillips (Dustin), Chandler Browning, Blaine York, Laurel Browning, Emma Hornsby, Olivia Hornsby and 1 great grandchild, Hadlee McCollum.

Pallbearers will be Dan Granger Bussey, Howard Bussie, Wallace Bussie, Glenn Bussie, Brent Bussie and Eddie Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Swinford, George Sims, Paul Strickland, Mike Putt, Clarence Haynes, Mike McWilliams and the Lincoln Jack’s breakfast crew.
