Funeral service for William Gus Edwards, 77 of Talladega will be Friday, September 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hepzibah Baptist Church. Rev. Harvey Bowlin, Sr. will officiate and burial will be in Hepzipah Cemetery. His family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 pm at the church. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
Mr. Edwards passed away at his home August 31, 2016.
He was a native and longtime resident of Talladega. He loved hunting, Alabama Football and love working and building with his hands.
Gus is preceded in death by his parents, William Edwards and Catherine Highfield, brother, Joe Edwards.
His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Edwards, son, Timothy Edwards (Cindy), daughter, Melanie Moore, grandchildren, Kristyn Harvel (Stephen), Auburn Edwards, Abbie Salmon (Matthew), great-grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, Anakin, Harley and Mara Jade, sisters, Lavenia Otwell, Shirley Pettus, and Ruby Connor, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Harvel, Fred Jones, Mike Fisher, Franklin Otwell, Arlen Otwell and Harvey Bowlin, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Satterwhite, Ragan Drummonds, Travis Ford, Wendell Herrington, and all the guys of the guys of his hunting club.
