Obituary of Roger William Thrasher

Roger William Thrasher, 71, of Talladega passed away July 20, 2016 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2016. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Thrasher if a lifelong resident of Talladega. He served in the Navy, was a member of Talladega Creek Baptist Church and Talladega Rescue Squad. He employed with Talladega Auto Parts.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Dillard and Elsie Thrasher, wife Joan Hazlewood Trasher and step-son Ronnie Hazlewood.
He is survived by his close friend Linda Thrasher Key, sister Willadean Allen, brother Bobby Ray Thrasher, brother Samuel Edward Thrasher, sister Donia McCrary, brother Thomas Sumpter Thrasher, 6 step-children, several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Henley, Steve Moore, Chris Bishop, Brian Thrasher, Joseph Allen, and Amie Dison.
Former Talladega Rescue Squad members will serve as honorary pallbearers along with Timmy Ledbetter, and Timothy Shockley.
