Clarence “Harlon” Roberts, 87, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2026. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Lucas Dickerson and Michael Butler officiating. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Roberts was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, and he graduated from Munford High School. After graduation, he worked at Crown Textile before joining the United States Army which he served in for four years. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad in Irondale, AL where he worked for 29 years. Harlon was a charter member of Union T. Baptist Church. His family helped to rebuild the church after it was struck by a tornado. Mr. Roberts was a past master and recently received his fifty-year pin at Talladega Masonic Lodge 261. He was an avid gardener and University of Alabama football fan, but most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Harlon will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and “Pa-Paw”.

He was preceded in death by his son, Baby Boy Roberts; mother, Maggie Canada Roberts; father, William Ross Roberts, and 11 siblings.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 67 years, Louise Roberts; son, Brian Harlon Roberts (Jennifer); daughter, Beverly Blackmon (Mark); 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Daniel Wade, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Steve Caldwell, Randy Roberts, Lucas Dickerson, Jaxon Roberts, Nick Blackmon, and Kevin Robinson will serve as pallbearers.

Fellow members of Talladega Masonic Lodge 261 will serve as honorary pallbearers.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to NHC Healthcare, Encompass Health, and Amedysis Hospice, especially Ray Ray, Courtney, and Kalee, for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, Harlon’s family asks that donations be made in his memory to the building fund for Talladega Masonic Lodge 261 c/o C. Ed Baggett, 25 Lake View Lane, Talladega, AL 35160.
