James Stanley Cosby, 67, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Randy Howell and Mike Harper officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Midway Memory Gardens.

Mr. Cosby was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church in Talladega where he served as a deacon and was currently a member of Lincoln Baptist Church. He was a faithful Christian man who was very devoted to his Savior and his church. James loved his family dearly, and he especially loved his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cosby, mother, Shirley Turner Cosby, and grandmother, Genevive Turner.

Mr. Cosby is survived by his wife, Mary Cosby; daughter, Leigh Anne Duke (Warren Duke III); grandchildren, Warren Duke IV and Peyson Duke; sister, Rachel Haynes, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Warren Duke III, Warren Duke IV, Tucker Steward, Jackson Steward, Brett Shaddix, and Tom Cooper will serve as pallbearers.
