It is with heavy hearts and a profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan C. Sims, our loving mother, grandmother and friend who left us peacefully on April 11, 2026.

She dedicated her life to the wellbeing and happiness of her family. As a mother, she was the heart of our home, a constant source of love, comfort, and unwavering support. Her daily "check in" calls will forever be missed. Her kindness and compassion were felt by all who knew her and she will be remembered for her unconditional love, selflessness and kind spirit.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. She was Baptist by faith and attended Eureka Baptist Church. Until her retirement, she was a member of the Lincoln Elementary School lunchroom staff.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton L. Sims; parents, Lois and Rufus Crawford; sisters, Patricia Dulaney (Perry) and Mildred Decker; and great-grandchild, Colton S. Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxiann Ramsey (Scott); sons, Donnie Sims (Michele) and Dannie Sims (Julie); grandchildren, Jason Ramsey (Britley), Lindsey Carlisle (Daniel), Logan Sims (Ashley), Tyler Sims, Jordan Sims and Chelsea Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Hilton Sims, Dansby Carlisle, Landry Carlisle, Kailynn Ramsey, Saban Thomas, Addy Sherbert and Kiree Sims; brother-in-law, Johnny Decker; nephews, Mark Dulaney, Kevin Dulaney and John Decker; and niece, Sandy Moses.
