Betty Edge Sanders Payne, 96, of Ragland, passed away April 9, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Clyde Sanders and Kenneth Payne; sons, James Sanders and Blair Sanders; grandson, TJ Tucker; great-grandson, Sean Payne; parents, Edna and Tave Edge; sister, Mary Conway; and brother, Jerry Edge.

She is survived by her sons, Neal Sanders (Kathy) and Eric Sanders; daughters, Kenneith Payne and Robyn Tucker; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Smith; and brother, Johnny Edge.

The family will receive friends at Hardin’s Chapel Church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Joey Rashleigh officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Sanders, Nicky Payne, Jamie Ehlman, Darrion Evans, Preston Sanders, Whitney Tucker and Andrew Tucker.

The family would like to extends special gratitude to caregivers Mesa, Regina, Maggie, Angie and Nurse Morgan.
