Master Sergeant Alan C. Hennings, U.S. Air Force (retired), age 87, of Springville, Alabama, passed away on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 21, 1938, in Minnesota to Carroll and Clara Hennings. He married Sharron Lavette Cook in 1966 and they shared fifty wonderful years together. He proudly served his country for 20 years, including combat service in Southeast Asia. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his character, and his patriotism. He enjoyed shooting trap, fishing, gardening, and golf.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharron Lavette Hennings, sister, Mona Goolsby, brother, Gary Hennings, and by his parents.

He is survived by his sister, Gail King (Gary); his sons, Dennis Hennings (Katrina) and John Hennings (Calli); six granddaughters, Savanna Harland, Sierra Edwards, Melissa Hennings, Meghan Hennings, Samantha Hennings, Madelynn Hennings; and six great grandchildren.

His service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama, visitation for family will begin at 12:30 p.m.. Visitation for friends will be at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside memorial at Popes Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Ragland, Alabama.
