Mrs. Barbara Faye Alverson, 89, of Pell City, passed away February 17, 2026.

Barbara was retired from United Chair and was a member of Wattsville Freewill Baptist Church for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Howell Alverson Sr.; daughter, Pamela Lynn Hallman; granddaughter, Monica Diane Clements; and sister, Bernice Carol Burgess.

She is survived by her son, Edward Howell Alverson Jr.; daughter, Debra Faye Jones (Ed); grandchildren, Jessica Long (Barry), Wesley Sahm (Deana); Erica Ford (Todd), Tara Fincher White, Heath Alverson (Kayla), Amanda Minton (Kevin), Melody Callender (Lionel), Ronnie Alverson, Tracie Jones and Cami Hollis (Brent); twenty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Everett Thomas (Jean).

The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, with Bro. Johnny Cook, Bro. Barry Long and Bro. Vint Arnold officiating. Interment will be at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
