Willie Paul Birchfield of Ashland passed away at his residence February 16, 2026, at the age of 91. A graveside service will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega. Ricky Clark will officiate the service.

Mr. Birchfield was a native of Ashland, AL and lived most of his life in Talladega before moving back to Ashland 3 years ago. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Talladega. Paul retired as a machinist from Talladega Machine and Davis Machine.

Paul is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra B. Gortney, and wife, Jeanette Birchfield.

Mr. Birchfield is survived by his wife, Shirley Dial Birchfield; daughters, Sarah Johnson, Lynn Tinney (Steve), and Sonja Hurst (Greg); son Scott Birchfield; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing services.
