Dorman H. Hughston, 87, of Talladega, AL passed away on Monday, February 02, 2026. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 06, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Don Barnett officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Dorman was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He graduated from Talladega High School in 1957 where he was a member of the basketball team. Mr. Hughston also graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1976 and served in the United States Army during which time he was stationed in Korea. He worked at Kokums Inc. and retired as the director of Talladega Parks and Recreation Department. Dorman enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, and he was an avid bowler. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Fincher Hughston, sisters, Marietta Coleman and Frances Hughston, and brothers, Darvin Hughtston, Lloyd Hughston, Floyd Hughston, Jonah Hughston, and Daniel C. Hughston.

Mr. Hughston is survived by his son, Mike Hughston (Cyndi); daughter, Marsha Veteto (Bo); sister, Geraldine Williams; grandchildren, Savanna Grissom, Harrison Hughston, Ivy Kate Hughston, Hughston Headley, and Graham Headley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
