John Roy Perkins, 84 of Talladega, Al. Born to Ernest Paul and Annie Mae Perkins, July 3, 1941, left his earthly home, January 24,2026 to unite with the Lord and reunite with the love of his life, Barbara Jean Brewer Perkins. Barbara left her earthly home three weeks shy of their 65th wedding anniversary, November 9th. From their blessed union, they raised four daughters, Teresa (Greg) Heath, Lisa (Mike) Cason, Cheryl Lackey, and Christa Wesley. They were grandparents to ten grandchildren, Brooke Beechum, Seth Heath, Randi Herd, Ross Rutledge, Riley Parker, Cody Perkins, Andrew Lackey, Brandon Lackey, Chance Wesley, and Chloe Dates. From their grandchildren, they were blessed with 19 great-grandchildren. Strong in his faith, he shared his love for the Lord with anyone that would listen.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Annie Perkins, siblings, Ernest Perkins, Carl Perkins, Spurgeon Perkins, Amos Perkins, Norris Perkins, Troyce Perkins, James (Ike) Perkins) Roger Perkins, Edith Parton, and Helen Wesley.

Roy is survived by sister, Ann Wycoff, his four daughters, ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and more nieces and nephews than can be counted, also Travoris "Mo "Wallace and Brittany Gargis, friends who became family.

Services will be performed by Justin Beechum at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service in the Chapel at Usrey (12-2). Burial will follow the service at Midway Memorial Gardens. Mr. Perkins grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Usrey Funeral Home Talladega will direct the services.
