Rosa Emma Letitia Walker Tollison, age 90, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on January 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Rosa was born on September 20, 1935, in Pell City, Alabama, to Leilus Law Walker and Ruby Lucille Goodman Walker. She was a proud graduate of Pell City High School, Class of 1954.
On July 3, 1954, Rosa married the love of her life, Teddy Darrell Tollison, Sr., in St. Clair County, with her brother, Billy Walker, officiating the ceremony. Their marriage of 43 years was one of deep devotion and faith, lasting until Teddy’s passing on January 27, 1997. Together, God blessed them with two children, Lena Tollison Willoughby and Teddy Darrell Tollison, Jr.
Rosa was further blessed with three grandchildren, Teddy Darrell Tollison III (Trey), Colan Tollison, and Jessica Tollison Smith, and three great-grandchildren, Camilla Tollison, Rosalie Smith, and Shepherd Smith, each of whom brought her great joy.
Rosa devoted her professional life to public service as a distinguished civilian government employee at the Anniston Army Depot. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards recognizing her dedication, integrity, and exceptional work ethic. Her commitment to excellence led her to pursue continued education, including graduating with honors as the first woman at the Depot to complete the Army Maintenance Management Correspondence Course at Fort Lee, Virginia. She later retired after many years of faithful service.
A woman of service in every sense, Rosa was deeply involved in her community and churches. She volunteered at the school attended by her grandchildren, served as librarian at Cropwell Baptist Church, and faithfully fulfilled the role of Treasurer at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Rosa had a lifelong love of gardening and took great pride in nurturing both her flowers and her family.
Rosa and Teddy treasured many simple joys together, especially lazy summer mornings spent reading the newspaper on their pontoon boat on Logan Martin Lake. She also cherished annual family reunions hosted at her lake house, where family from across the state gathered to camp, laugh, and make memories during long summer days.
Rosa and her family were devoted members of several churches in the Pell City area throughout her life. Her final church membership was at Seddon Baptist Church in Riverside, Alabama, a church founded by members of her family and one that stands as a lasting legacy of their faith.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include her children, Lena Tollison Willoughby (William) and Teddy Darrell Tollison II (Tammy); her grandchildren, Trey Tollison, Colan Tollison, and Jessica Tollison Smith (Drew); her great-grandchildren, Camilla Tollison, Rosalie Smith, and Shepherd Smith; her brother, Paul Walker; and her beloved sister-in-law, Margie Dollar Tollison.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Tollison; her parents, Leilus and Ruby Walker; and her many cherished brothers and sisters: Doug, Ed, Lena Mae, Jack, Billy Joyce, Buddy, Preston, Claude, Mark, John.
Visitation will be held at Usrey Funeral Home on January 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Family only will proceed to her final resting place at the Walker Family Cemetery in Seddon, Alabama.
