Mr. Stewart was a native of Talladega, AL, but lived in various places throughout the state. He graduated from Winterboro High School in 1965, and he took many Bible classes through Lee University. Raymond was a retired Church of God minister who always made everyone feel welcome. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and working in his yard. He was a wonderfully funny man who got great joy from picking and cutting up with his grandchildren. A very loving, kind, and Godly man, he perfectly exemplified the fruits of the spirit in his everyday life. He would do anything that he could for others, which was one of the many reasons why he was loved by everyone who knew him. Known for giving excellent advice, Mr. Stewart was often sought out by people. Whether one needed to be talked down or uplifted, he was always there with perfect words of wisdom. A devoted and loving husband, father, and “Paw-Paw”, his joyful, infectious spirit will be deeply cherished and missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Stewart, daughter, Rhonda Stewart, and parents, John and Evelyn Stewart.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judy Stewart; daughters, Jeri Sanford, Regina Little, and Amber Tolbert (Andrew); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Willingham (J.S.) and Brenda Burdette (Charlie); brother, John Douglas Stewart (Ba), and a host of nieces and nephews.
Andrew Tolbert, Ricky Mann, Jonathan Mann, Andrew Mann, Stephen Mann, and Chris Banks will serve as pallbearers.
