Nancy Elaine Cluck, 86 years of age, entered her Heavenly home peacefully in the comfort of her own earthly home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Nancy was married to the love of her life, Gene Cluck, for nearly 66 years. Together, they built a legacy that will likely withstand the test of time. Their family tree is deeply rooted in many places, beginning in Illinois and ending in St. Clair County, Alabama. In fact, their roots extend so widely that they gained family far beyond the last name, “Cluck.” Nancy worked in the schools at Ashville for many years, and she quickly became a “Mom to Many.” It is important to know that if you have been a part of any portion on her journey, she loved you with her whole heart and took pride in knowing she was a part of your journey. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved her church family and friends. She also loved her family with her whole being. Her family, including her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren were her heartbeat. When the family was together, her laughter and jokes brought life to the party. She was a bit of a “Fancy Nancy” due to her obsessions with manicures and pedicures, purses, pajama sets, shoes, etc. She thoroughly enjoyed watching all things Crimson Tide with her husband and family. She was an incredible cook whose love was an added ingredient that you could taste in each bite. Music, especially country and gospel classics, made her heart sing. Undoubtedly, the legacy she leaves behind is one that is special. She contributed so much love to this world, and may we continue that legacy of love and laughter and family to honor her life. May we all continue to keep, “Clucking!”
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cluck, and by her son, Tony Cluck.
She is survived by her daughters, Gena (Tim) Seals and Tammy (Greg) Jones; daughter-in-law, Tammy (Ronnie) Wheeler; grandchildren, Chris (Lauren) Seals, Matt (Mandy) Jones, Amber (Taylor) Brown, Ashley (Jordan) Chasteen and Tyler Cluck; great-grandchildren, Clayton Jones, Anniston Jones, Ayla Brown, Caleb Chasteen, Harper Brown, Grayson Chasteen and Sutton Seals; brother, Buddy (Judy) Peyton; sisters-in-law, Sue Hinkle and Carrol Cluck; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for friends will be held at Evergreen Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, followed by the funeral ceremony at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Cluck and Pastor Johnny Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Mrs. Cluck's grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Brittany Washington and everyone who cared for her so well at Complete Health in Springville. They also send a huge thank you to the incredible Hospice team from ACG Hospice who so gently cared for her and the family in her final hours.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make donations to Evergreen Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
