Melvin Clyde Mitchell Jr., 76, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Saturday, January 03, 2026. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Pine Hill Memorial Park with Kevin Jones officiating.

Mr. Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, and he graduated from Talladega High School. He was a very avid and excellent tennis player who also enjoyed playing baseball and bowling. Melvin was a member of Bemiston Baptist Church, and he was known for his very giving and caring heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Minnie Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his sister, Linda Tsighis (James “Jim”); nieces, Zoee Tsighis (Brent Hildyard) and Liberty Tsighis (Mike Swan); great-nephew, Bennett Swan, and a host of many dear cousins.
