Franklin Ernest Stewart, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away December 24, 2025, at Colonel Robert L. Howard VA Nursing Home in Pell City, AL. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega, AL. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Stewart was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He graduated from Talladega High School in 1968 and was a proud Navy veteran from 1968 to 1972 where he served in Vietnam. After his military service, Frankie graduated from UAB. From 1980 to 2005 he taught carpentry and history at Talladega High School. Frankie enjoyed fishing, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and fishing. He was a member of Crooked Creek Rider’s Club where he was affectionately known as “Biscuit”. He accomplished riding in all 48 continental U.S. states and all Canadian provinces in his riding career.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stewart; daughter, Samantha Kearley (Allen); honorary son, Andrew Holt; grandchildren, Taylor Horst (Conrad), Nicholas Kearley; and great-grandchild, Chloe Horst. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hazel Stewart; brother, John Howard Stewart; sisters, Dottie Braswell, Teedom Cox; and loving puppies, Otter and Kit.
