Mrs. Mary Katherine Phillips, 70, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away December 14, 2025.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bass; parents, Nancy and Melbourne Phillips, and a brother, Melbourne Phillips, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Carden (Dale Weems); step-son, Danny Bass (Candice) three grandchildren, Magnolia Carden, Cyrus Bass, and Lillian Bass; sister, Patricia Cain (Robin); brothers, Robert Phillips and Glenn Phillips (Kelly); and a niece Carla Carroll (Brian).

The funeral service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Melanie Carden will be officiating, followed by interment at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Pelham Library Guild, P.O. Box 1627, Pelham, Al 35124.
