Anita Marcelle Cotton, 72, of Talladega went home to be with Lord on November 27, 2025
Anita was born in Lincoln, Alabama, to Paul and Ina Cotton on June 11, 1953. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a member of Blue Eye Baptist Church in Lincoln. She worked many years at the Talladega Superspeedway and was retired from Shocco Springs in Talladega.
Anita loved going to church, reading her Bible and sharing her love for God's word. She was a devoted fan of college football especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Anita had a gift of easily making new friends everywhere she went.
Anita is survived by her sister, Sylvia Galiano, her nieces and nephew, and many great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ina Cotton, and her sisters, Shirley Wyatt and Kathleen Studdard.
Pallbearers will be Keith Galiano, Don Roberts, Joe Ballow, Jr., Cole Lanier and Greg Freeman.
A funeral service in her honor will be held at Blue Eye Baptist Church in Lincoln on Monday, December 1st at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Jacky Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30-12:30.
In lieu of flowers donations toward her funeral fund can be made at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.
