Martha Jane Holcombe Hare, 91, of Talladega, AL passed away at her home on Sunday, November 09, 2025. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Bobby Langley and Greg Tankersly officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hare was a native of Talladega, AL, where she spent most of her life. She graduated from Alexandria High School and retired from Palm Beach after 37 years of service. Martha was a devout Christian woman who was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was an avid University of Alabama fan and adored her dogs, Bama and Max. Hardworking and resilient, Mrs. Hare was the backbone of her family, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “Maw-Maw” who will be missed greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ruby Holcombe; husband, Fred Hare; brothers, Earnest Holcombe and Rhuben Holcombe, and sisters, Pauline Arnett, Johnnie Farrow, Velma Gilbreath, Hester Holcombe, and Hazel Taylor.

Mrs. Hare is survived by her daughter, Sandra Langley (Bobby); son, Gary Hare; grandchildren, Wes Ledbetter, Ben Ledbetter (Krissi), Terry Langley, and Ellen Bonner; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jonathan, Emmett, Cody, Charlie, and Serenity; great-grandchildren, Cali, Annslee, Thomas, Callie, and Karson, brothers, Herbert Holcombe (Erna) and Joe Holcombe; sisters, Roy Norman and Marion Hodgson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wes Ledbetter, Ben Ledbetter, Lark Hare, Johnny Arnett, Earnest Farrow, Jerry Gilbreath, and Herb Holcombe will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hare’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Aveanna Hospice, especially her nurses, Carla Dingler, Kellie McDonald, and Hannah Sorrell.
