Mr. James “Jr.” L. Golden Jr., 72, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on November 9, 2025.

Jr. was a lifelong resident of Pell City, a graduate of Pell City High School, and had been in business with his father at Golden Excavating but among his greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife of thirty-five years, Robin, and being Pappy to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Niki Morgan and Toni Golden, and by his granddaughter, Lindsey Morgan; and grandparents, Lethia and Jim Golden and Flora and Abe Bice.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Golden; son, Jim Golden (Mary); daughters, Whitney Smith (Matt) and Amy Kearley (Scott); grandchildren, Dani, Jack, Hunter, Kade, Cole, James, and Hunter; parents, Gladys Jo and James Lloyd Golden Sr.; sister, Sheila Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. John Thweatt officiating. Interment will be at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers are Jack Golden, Hunter Smith, Cole Smith, Kade Brantley, Jason Parsons and Terrell Dubose. Honorary pallbearers are James Golden, Hunter Brantley, Matt Smith and Jim Brown.
