Henry Thomas Sorrell, 82, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Pine Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Todd Henderson officiating. His family will receive friends at the mausoleum for one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Sorrell was a native of Talladega and was one of nine siblings. He graduated from Talladega High School and was also a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he played and later coached football. Henry played professional football for Denver and later in Canada. He was a good and devout Christian man who was loved by everyone who knew him. Mr. Sorrell was an extremely loving husband, father, and “Papa” who will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida McBrier, brothers, Harvey Stewart, Cecil Stewart, and Frederick McBrier, and sisters, Celeste, Delores, and Ferro.

Mr. Sorrell is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cathy Sorrell; daughters, Lisa Pirkey and Susan Hallmark; son, Steve Fuller; grandson, Will; sisters, Fran Atkinson and Tava Hamn, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Chris Spradley, Steve Fuller, Will Hallmark, and Billy Keel will serve as pallbearers.
