Katherine (Kay) Brown Waters, age 74, of Talladega passed away October 3, 2025. Her family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday Oct. 8, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

Mrs. Waters was born in Spokane, Washington on August 20, 1951, and she lived most of her life in Talladega County. After graduating from Winterboro High School, she worked at Avondale Mills in Sylacauga for many years. Mrs. Waters enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband, attending estate sales with her son, and she also enjoyed riding Tennessee walking horses.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her husband, James C. Waters Jr. (Jimmy), her son James Cameron Waters, stepson Sean Patrick Waters and his fiancé, Monica Rose; step grandchildren, Kaitlin Ramsey (Corey), Kresten Kennedy, Grace Horn, Sam Waters, Charlie Horn, Darby Waters and fiancé, Seth Martin, Dalton Waters and Dallas Waters; three step great-grandchildren, Berleigh Norton, Nolan Norton, and Ruby Kennedy. Mrs. Waters is also survived by family friends Allen Jackson, Sandra White, Lena Gremlin. She had many friends in Florida.

Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Cameron Brown and Geraldine Davis Brown. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Sonja Danielle Waters.
