Barbara Jean Brewer Perkins was born April 15, 1943, to Grady and Nora Brewer in Talladega, AL. Barbara joined her Heavenly Father September 27, 2025, whom she loved and trusted immensely.

Barbara married John Roy Perkins November 9th, 1960, and would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this coming November. Together, they built a large and loving family who loved and adored her. She is also survived by her children, Teresa Heath (Greg), Lisa Cason (Mike), Cheryl Lackey, and Christa Wesley. She had ten grandchildren that were her absolute everything, Brooke Beecham, Seth Heath, Randi Herd, Ross Rutledge, Riley Parker, Cody Perkins, Andrew Lackey, Brandon Lackey, Chance Wesley and Chloe Dates. From these grandchildren, Barbara was blessed with 19 great grandchildren that she held near and dear to her heart and cherished every visit, phone call, or any interaction and engagement she had with them all, her siblings, G.W. Brewer, Doris Mowery, Linda Durham, Donnie Brewer, and Patricia Nelson. She was Preceded in death by her parents Grady and Nora Brewer and sister Shirley Fogg.

Aside from family, Barbara was a "Nana" to many in the community as she owned and operated a home daycare for more than 40 years and loved and shared memories with them all.

Visitation with the family will be at Ursery Funeral Home, Monday, September 29, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. and funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after at Midway Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Justin Beecham (grandson in-law) will officiate the services.
