John Anderson Parks, age 59, passed away September 4, 2025, at the family home in Lincoln Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and deep love for his family.

John was the beloved son of the late Helen Smith Parks and Archie Sims Parks. He grew up with his two cherished siblings, Marsu Parks and David Parks, with whom he shared a strong family bond that lasted a lifetime.

A proud American, John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard as a member of the 20th Special Forces Group out of Birmingham, Alabama. His military career was marked by a commitment to serve his country, including active service during Desert Storm and a deployment detail in Afghanistan.

John dedicated a significant part of his professional career to Alabama Tractor in Lincoln where he worked for many years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his reliability, work ethic, and unwavering loyalty.

John’s presence and laughter will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Above all, John was a loving father. He is survived by his two children, Anderson Parks and Isaac Parks, who were the light of his life. He loved them deeply and was immensely proud of who they have become. He was “Jo-Jo” to three beautiful granddaughters, Rileigh, Audrey, and Laynie, and “Uncle John” to nephews, Ryan and Hunter Ingram.

A memorial service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, starting promptly at 4:00 p.m. His family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service until 7:00 p.m.
