He was always a friend from the moment we met 20+ years ago. He was always positive, no negativity. Also patient, especially when letting my youngest son let him cook for the crowd.

Daddy, I will always be your baby girl. You were my protector, my body guard, and my go to person when I was upset and you always made me dry those tears up immediately. I cherish every single adventure you took
all of us kids on. I cherish everything you taught me. I promise me and Ba will take great care of your grand babies. You are so missed already I can’t even function. I love you so much!

Gerald, how I wished I had one more chance to just stop and listen to one of your never ending stories. You always wanted to share stories of whatever was going on in your life, and unfortunately I'm just not always a good listener. I'm sorry that I was always in a hurry and never took the time to just be in the moment and simply listen. I'll regret that for the rest of my life.
Thank you for always loving and pouring into my children and my grandchildren. You was the best Santa and made Christmas for all of us so special. You are and have always been a wonderful brother. You loved all of our family deeply. We all love you just as deeply. I'll love you forever baby brother. I miss you already.

Gerald was the first person to play electric guitar for me and intriduced me to effects pedals a fascination that goes on to this day he akways lived across the yard from my grandmother and granddaddy mr and mrs gibson and always took care of them and especially my grandmother after granddaddy passed on and later moved into my grandparents home and took care of it for them something ill always be grateful for. One of the last times i seen Gerald he caught me stealing pain pills from his wife and threw me out a week later i returned to his pool table and everyone walked out and left me there alone with Gerald where i broke down and told him i was sorry and gave him a brand new wah pedal i bought just to give to gerald he told me i didnt have to give him that and forgave me on tue spot asked to stay for a game of pool which i declined still embarassed and hurt for betraying my friend i left and told him to keep the pedal and he thanked me and that was last time i think i spoke to Gerald that was over a decade ago I regret not coming to check on my FRIEND anymore and advise everybody with a friend they love but too afraid to stop and say hello to, to let bygones be bygones and go see your friend if he is half the friend that was to me and everybody else then he forgive you and be glad to see you i wish my friend farewell we all see you soon and to the family i will be there friday and saturday to see him off. Unc I still remember the day we first met again lol you told me you had no doubt that I was your niece because the Hill eyes told the story. We would talk almost everyday after that talking about family things I missed as a child and my dad O'Neal Hill. You talked me into buying a bike and then we ended up going to bama bike fest and froze our tails off but had a great time doing it. You meant more to me in that short amount of time than you could realize because you showed me what unselfish love looked like you cared for your family regardless and would go to war for them in a drop of a hat.. I love you and thank you for being the loving uncle that you where until we meet again..
