James Ronnie Dean, 76, of Talladega, AL passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with David Gaither officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service at Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Ronnie was a native of Gadsden, AL but had been a resident of Talladega since 1954. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Dean was a member of Talladega Creek Baptist Church, and he retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Laura Marie Dean.

Mr. Dean was survived by his wife, Elayne H. Dean; daughter, Dana Dean Commire; son, James R. “Jay” Dean II (Tracie); grandchildren, Rodney Dean (Sam), Bryan Dean (Carissa), Patrick Isbell (Morgan), Logan Commire, Max Commire, and Marie Isbell; great-grandchildren, Izzy, Layla, Renleigh, Mattie, Luke, Brysten, and Blake, and daughter-in-law, Darlene Dean.

Patrick Isbell, Logan Commire, David Colquit, Jamie Irvin, Cameron Irvin, Bryan Dean, Tony Horn, and Rodney Dean will serve as pallbearers.

Billy Miller, Roger Jackson, Phillip Hart, Rodney Hart, Steve Hurst, and all of the old Georgia Pacific maintenance employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
