Jeff Horne, 69, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Brookwood Hospital after an extended illness. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Kevin Jones officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Jeff was born in Talladega, Alabama on January 29, 1956, to William “Bill” and Helen Hudson Horne. He grew up in Clairemont Springs, Alabama before moving to Talladega in 1968 where he graduated from Talladega High School. Jeff worked in construction in Birmingham for many years. With his big smile, he was respected and made friends wherever he went. In retirement, he enjoyed working in the garden, especially taking care of his rows of blueberries. He loved to listen to music, in particular, Three Dog Night. He watched his beloved University of Alabama football faithfully and could recite stats with the best of fans. He always had a heart for Clay County and enjoyed visiting friends there.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Helen Horne, and his brother-in-law, Terry Dunn.

He is survived by his loving family: Paul (Janet), Philip (Anna), Cindy (Mark) Bakane, Alicia Dunn, Maria (Bruce) Strickland, Alex, Melinda (Bo) Champion, Michele (Jeff) Warren, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Josh Warren, Bayley Warren, Chris Horne, and Hobert Horne will serve as pallbearers.
