Rosemary Conner Griffin, 73, of Talladega, AL passed away at her home on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Her family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 5:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M.

Mrs. Griffin was born in Talladega on February 15, 1952. She graduated from Talladega High School in 1970 and also won the title of Alabama’s Junior Miss that same year. After graduation, she studied music at Birmingham Southern College from 1970 until 1973. Rosemary went on to earn many degrees including her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also received two master’s degrees from Jacksonville State University—her master’s degree in early childhood education in 1978 and her master’s degree in special education in 1999. Mrs. Griffin became a wonderful educator. She was nominated for Talladega City School’s Teacher of the Year for the 1982-1983 school year, and she retired from Coosa County Elementary School. Rosemary was a beautiful singer who loved music, educating children, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Hardy” Conner and Mary Rebecca “Becky” Conner.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her life partner, Pete Keefer; daughter, Rosanne Gallahar (Kyle); son, Brantley Griffin (Jennifer); grandchildren, Colson Griffin, Kase Griffin, Payton Rose Gallahar, Amelia Gallahar, and Madeline Gallahar, and brothers, John David Conner (Julia) and Bill Conner (Carolyn).
