Katie came into this world bright-eyed and ready to go on January 20, 1987. She left us too soon on July 12, 2025.
From the very beginning, she was full of life. Her doctor once shared how she was the first newborn he'd ever seen open her tiny eyes and immediately search for her daddy at the sound of his voice. Remarkably, she lifted her head, turned toward the sound, and found him—eyes wide open.
Katie was affectionate and loved others with her whole heart. But she could also love fiercely and passionately—sometimes mixed with a little (or a lot) of spirited determination.
Katie was genuine. What you saw was what you got. That’s what made her so special—she was the real thing, authentically and unapologetically herself.
With Katie, no one stayed a stranger for long. She had a special gift for making people feel at ease, like they’d known her forever.
She knew who she was—but more importantly, she knew Whose she was. Katie belonged to God. Her faith was steadfast, and she lived each day with purpose and joy, especially in the moments she shared with her family—her husband Jason, and her beloved girls, Whitley and Addie.
We called Katie by many names. Mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin, cheerleader, and aunt. She was our KitKat, KK, or Momma.
Her Three Arbor Insurance family called her a trusted friend and a dedicated, hard-working teammate. Katie truly loved her job and the people she worked alongside.
The Auburn Wildcats softball team knew her as their biggest cheerleader—always present, always encouraging, and never missing a chance to show her support.
Katie was deeply loved by all of us—Jason, Whitley, and Addie.
She was cherished by Mom and Dad, her brother Brandon, and her sister Jessica.
She held a special place in the hearts of her mother-in-law Paula, her sister- and brother-in-law Emily and Tanner, her favorite nephew Rhett Tanner, and her soon-to-arrive nephew, Briggs.
Many close cousins, aunts, uncles, and a multitude of dear friends also shared our love for Katie.
She touched more lives than she ever realized.
