Mary Burk Smith, 83, of Talladega, AL passed away on Wednesday, July 09, 2025. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at First Methodist Church of Talladega with Todd Henderson officiating.

Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. She graduated from Talladega High School and attended the University of Montevallo for a brief period. After many years of service, she retired from Lockheed Martin Federal Credit Union. Mrs. Smith was a proud member of First Methodist Church of Talladega where she participated in the women’s prayer shawl ministry. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and crafting and loved being a part of many arts and crafts shows throughout the years. Mrs. Smith was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn White, and sisters, Joan Nelson, Hope Hearn, and Sally White.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Lin Smith; daughters, Penny Bates and Kelly Clevenger; stepchildren, Chris Smith and Lora Smith; grandchildren, Derek Bates (Shannon), Michael Bates (Totiyuna), Hunter Bates, Shelby Newton (Malcolm), Elizabeth McGinley (Evan Soloff), Katy Carrico, Griffin Smith, Lindsey Smith, Jessica Smith, Brady Smith, and Abby Sams (Tyler), and great-grandchildren, Bentley, Kaius, Kingston, Landyn, Emeri, Weston, and Katherine.
