John Paul Moore Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Paul Moore who left the earth peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 26, 2025. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 01, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Born on August 15, 1934, John lived an amazing life traveling the world with his devoted wife, Marlene Moore. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Moore raised him in the Bemiston community, and he graduated from Talladega High School. He attended Cumberland College and later received his engineering degree from Auburn University, formerly Alabama Polytechnic Institute.

John was a beloved father of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, and he left a legacy to many others. John coached his children, Steve and Alison, in youth soccer and was known in Laguna Beach as "Coach Moore". He instilled his love of camping and sports into all of his children. While he supported various sports teams, he was most passionate about the Anaheim Angels and Auburn University football, and he took Steve and Alison to numerous Angels games.

Mr. Moore had a very successful career offering his expertise to companies such as Boeing and the United States Department of Defense. He loved sharing his stories about working on space shuttles and submarines to protect our country. John also felt that education was the key to a successful life and a peaceful world. He often quoted Shakespeare and philosophers, and he enjoyed discussing world events.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Annemarie Schulak; sister, Barbara Neeper; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Moore, and grandson, Joseph Williams.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Marlene Moore; daughters, Alison Schulak, Lori Fine, Janet Williams, and Debbie Culbert; son, Steve Moore; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Trae Williams, Cody Culbert, Brenden Moore, Ryan Moore, and Mr. Moore's great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
