Frank Eugene Mayo, 47, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Tommy Pritchett, Jeff Rutledge, and Ray Camp officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Frank was a native and life-long resident of Talladega County and graduated from Munford High School in 1996. He proudly served in law enforcement for 25 years. Mr. Mayo started his career at the Talladega County Sheriff Department before retiring as a sergeant from Oxford Police Department in 2024. He was very active in the police department where he served as the lead firearms instructor and was a member of the S.W.A.T. team. He was also a member of the Oxford chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police and owned and operated Academy PX. Frank was a member of Nances Creek United Methodist Church. His hobbies included fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and watching football, especially Auburn University. He had a huge heart and would help anyone that he could. All you had to do was give him a call and he would be right there. Mr. Mayo was a very loving husband, father, and son who will be deeply missed.

Mr. Mayo is survived by his wife, Tammy Jane Mayo; parents, Jerry and Frances Mayo; son, Hunter Mayo (Madison), and daughters, Grace Mayo and Tamile Burt (Caleb).

Hunter Mayo, Corey Gallahar, Dewitt Ashley, Scott Glanze, Tim Parsons, and Clay Jones will serve as pallbearers.

The Oxford Police Department Honor Guard and Ayden Woodey will serve as honorary pallbearers.
