Roy Lee Adams, of Talladega, AL passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with David Gaither officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Adams worked in bread sales for Flowers and Merritta for 30 years and was most recently the manager at Talladega Municipal Airport for over 10 years. He joined Providence Baptist Church on October 16, 1960 where he proudly served as a deacon for over 45 years. Mr. Adams exemplified what it means to be a true servant of Christ through his humbleness and compassion for others. He diligently worked to maintain the church property along with offering grass cutting and bush hogging services to others throughout the community. His love of giving back was proven through his actions—never missing an opportunity to help whenever he was able.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Adams Sr. and Ida Moxley Adams, sister, Inez Watts, and brothers, George Adams Jr., Dan Adams, Delmar Adams, and Buddy Adams.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Wilma Dean Sexton Adams; daughters, Sandy Swafford (James), Marsha Smith (James), and Rhonda Chappell (Greg); son, Tim Adams (Krista); grandchildren, Shanna Smith Howard (Jason), Matt Pettus (Becca), Roxanne Swafford, Zach Swafford (Autumn), Christney Stevens (Doyce), Joshua Smith (Amber), Hunter Adams (Beth), Jeremy Adams (Danielle), Emily Chappell, and Megan Tice (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Harlow Howard, Riley Jones, Jacob Swafford, Summer Stevens, Kobe Stevens, Naomi Adams, Abigail Adams, Kaydence Pettus, Analyn Pettus, Jemma Pettus, Eribella Wallace, Brantlee Wallace, Railyn Haynes, Webber Tice, Wylder Tice, Gavin Lambert, Graham Lambert, and Charlena Miller, and sister, Margaret Sweet.

Matt Pettus, Josh Smith, Hunter Adams, Jeremy Adams, Zach Swafford, and Sonny Blankenship will serve as honorary pallbearers.
