It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Crump Patton, who departed this life on June 11th, 2025, at the age of 88. Mary was a cherished Mother, Grandmother, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Born on May 13th, 1937, in Pell City, Alabama Mary led a remarkable life filled with love, passion, and dedication. Her love of family and Church was an example to all her beloved family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father Guy Crump, her mother Eujinure Crump, brother Sam Crump, and sister Josephine King. Mary is survived by sons James Michael Crump, Stan McElroy (Karen) and daughter Niki Rachels (Jason). Sisters, Carolyn Cosper and Elizabeth McNutt and grandsons Scott McElroy, Jaxon Rachels, Ashton Rachels Joshua Williams, granddaughter Regan Williams and four great grandkids. All who will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.

Mary graduated from the Talladega School of the Deaf and Blind in 1959. She started her career in the newspaper industry in Selma Alabama. She then changed paths and worked in the printing industry and finally retired from the US Post office in 2001. She spent her time with family, taking time to enjoy grandkids. Mary had a love of the outdoors, she spent her time gardening, biking, walking, bird watching, and let’s all remember what a love of mowing grass she had! She was always determined to outwork anyone and everyone when it came to yard work.

A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on June 13th, 2025, at Usrey funeral home. The Family will receive friends beginning at 11am followed by service at 12pm officiated by Pastor Samuel Cardoso. Interment will follow at Broken Arrow Cemetery in Coal City Al. Friends, family, and all who cherished Mary are invited to gather and share their love and memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Talladega School of the Deaf and Blind, or Oak Circle Assisted Living Center in Pell City Alabama.

Though Mary is no longer with us, her impact will remain imprinted in our hearts. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort in times of sorrow.
