Donna Jo McWilliams Weymouth (Mama Jo) of Talladega passed away May 24, 2025, when she won her fight against ALS. She was born January 21, 1954, to her parents James McWilliams and Bonnie Houston.

Donna was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister to her family. She was the life of the party and always made sure everyone was dressed properly. Leaving the house without makeup and her hair done was a crime that she never committed.

Donna’s favorite Bible verse was “Be still and know that I Am God.” Psalm 46:10 which is what she held onto after being diagnosed with ALS. She never gave into the disease and continued her skincare, makeup, and hair routine until her peaceful passing.

Donna is survived by her children, Brooke Sheffield (Josh), Micah Shierling, and Jeremy Shierling; her grandchildren, Blakely Shierling (Brittney), Katie Hurley (Hayden), Wyatt Shierling, Emily Glass (Matt), and Mikiah Shierling; her great-grandchildren, Raylan Johnson, Harrison Hurley, and Harper Hurley; her great-grand-dog Lucy; her siblings, Mike McWilliams (Sara), Sundra Kinman (Randy), and Tammy McWilliams; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Weymouth; her parents James McWilliams, O’Neva McWilliams, Charles Houston, and Bonnie Houston; and her grand-dog Nick.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at 2pm on May 31, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm on May 31, 2025. Burial will follow funeral service at Forest Lawn in Anniston, AL.

Pallbearers include Andy McWilliams, Guy Knight, Drew Knight, Todd McBurnett, Tanner McBurnett, Thomas Kinman, Hayden Hurley, and Matt Glass.

In lieu of flowers Mama Jo requested donations be made to The Emory ALS Clinic.
