Obituary of Jerry Wayne Thompson

Mr. Jerry Wayne Thompson, 71, of Ashville, Alabama, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. Mr. Thompson was a beloved husband, father, and "Papaw." He retired from the St. Clair County Road Department after thirty-eight years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Porter Jr. and Christine Thompson, and by his sister, Marilyn Jones. He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Thompson; children, Jeri Lynn England (John), Tammy Griffith (Jason), and Kevin Thompson (Melissa); grandchildren, Rachel Vigee (Chase), Hannah England (Luke Harris), Noah England, Robby Griffith (Shelbi), Jacob Griffith (Josey Rakestraw), and Dustin Speake; great-grandchildren, Easton Vigee, Harper Vigee, Piper Vigee, and one-on-the-way; sister, Carolyn Tolbert (Ricco); and beloved dog, Wicket. The funeral service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with Bro. Jeff Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery.
