Jeroline “Jerri” Shelton Ellis, 94, of Talladega, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. A graveside ceremony will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Pine Hill Memorial Park with Stan Albright officiating.
Mrs. Ellis was born on March 12, 1931 in New Hope, AL, but she lived most of her life in Talladega. She graduated from Alabama School for the Blind and went on to earn a degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She taught at Helen Keller and Alabama School for the Blind for over 30 years before retiring. Mrs. Ellis was also a member of First Baptist Church of Talladega and spent much of her time volunteering at Citizen’s Hospital and Reach to Recovery Breast Cancer Support Program.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Ellis, parents, Mason Bradford and Dora Beatrice Shelton, and brothers, Lee Shelton, Charles Slover, and Raymond Shelton.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by many dear friends whom she loved as her own family.
