Shirley Faye Barker Humphrey Obituary

Shirley Faye Humphrey, first and foremost was a survivor who was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Shirley passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 71. Born and raised in Talladega, Alabama, Shirley’s adventurous spirit led her to live all over the world, including Korea and Germany, before settling in

Colorado for the last 21 years of her life.

Shirley found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a passion for crafts and could often be found at the table working on a puzzle or cross-stitching. She preserved old-school traditions through sewing and canning. And in her later years, she developed a love for camping, embracing the beauty of the outdoors.

Throughout her life, Shirley worked in various fields, but she found her true calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing in-home care to those in need. She was deeply devoted to her patients, treating them with kindness, dignity, and compassion.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, S.L. and Lucille Barker, as well as her brothers, Howard, Roger (survived by Diana), and Wayne Barker (Shirley). She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Terry Humphrey; her children, James Michael Pierce and Jamie Michelle Pierce (Jaime Gomez); her grandchildren, Michael

Ruybal and Ahmi Gomez; and her great-grandson, Jaxzen Ruybal.
