Joseph “Merrill” Pressley, 87, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2025. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Saturday, March 01, 2025 from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 3:00 P.M. on March 01, 2025 at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Wayne Hester officiating. Mr. Pressley was a native of Talladega, AL and spent most of his life there. He worked at several different places throughout his life including Newberry Foundry and Talladega Truck and Tractor before retiring from Proctor and Gamble Paper Mill in Albany, GA. Mr. Pressley also thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Mary Lou Pressley. Mr. Pressley is survived by his son, Anthony Pressley (Louise); daughters, Rhonda Collier, Deb Butler (Freddie), and Janice Sindia; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Ginny Rockwell, and a host of nieces and nephews.
